— USC junior Doris Chen defeated OU's Anne-Catherine Tanguay and OSU's Julie Yang as she advanced to the 36-hole championship match of the 2013 U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship at Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club on Friday.

Chen will face Lauren Diaz-Yi, a Virginia signee from Thousand Oaks, Calif., in Saturday's championship match.

Chen defeated Tanguay on the first playoff hole of the quarterfinals.

“Sometimes you're lucky and sometimes you're a little unlucky on who you get to play,” Tanguay said. “It was a great match. We both did some really good things. I'm happy with it. She did good, so she deserved it.”

Chen then went on to beat Yang 5 and 4 in the semifinals.
