UAB hires Vincent, Walker as coordinators

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — New UAB coach Bill Clark has hired Bryant Vincent as offensive coordinator and Duwan Walker to run the defense.

Clark announced the hires on Wednesday.

Vincent spent the past three seasons as quarterbacks coach at South Alabama, where Ross Metheny ranked second in the Sun Belt Conference in pass efficiency last year.

Vincent spent five seasons as a head coach in the high school ranks, leading Spanish Fort to the state championship in 2010.

Walker was Clark's defensive coordinator at Jacksonville State last season.

Walker has worked with Clark for 16 years in various capacities in high school, at South Alabama and at Jacksonville State

They're Clark's first two hires since replacing Garrick McGee.
