LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — University of Arkansas at Little Rock baseball coach Scott Norwood has announced his immediate resignation.

Norwood announced his resignation Monday saying only that he will pursue other opportunities.

Assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Chris Marx will serve as interim head coach while a new coach is sought.

UALR was 148-178 with two Sun Belt Tournament appearances — including a tournament championship and NCAA regional appearance in 2011 — in six seasons with Norwood as head coach. The Trojans were 25-29 in 2014.
