CONWAY, Ark. (AP) — The University of Central Arkansas this Sunday will host the fourth Amigo Cup soccer tournament. For the first time, it will bring together the Latino women's league champions from Fort Smith, Little Rock, Rogers and Springdale.
The tournament will be held at the Bill Stephens Track and Soccer Complex on the UCA campus. Admission is free. Because seating is limited, people are asked to bring their own lawn chairs.
In addition to the four women's teams, the tournament will include six men's teams.
UCA's dean of students, Gary Roberts, said the goal of the tournament is to increase diversity at the university. He said that since the tournament began, Hispanic enrollment at the school has climbed 26 percent.
