— Bargains on books, media and educational materials will be available at the University of Central Oklahoma’s Friends of the Library Book Sale, which runs Friday through Sunday in the basement of Max Chambers Library, located on the southeast corner of University Drive and Ayers Street.

“The Friends of the Library Book Sale raises money to help buy new items for the library’s collections and to support library programming throughout the year,” said Carrie Bond, Chambers Library assistant development manager.

“We offer a large selection of books, both fiction and nonfiction, at very reasonable prices,” Bond said. “Because we receive many donations throughout the year, we are always able to offer new, exciting selections each year.”

Items for sale include popular novels, nonfiction books, curriculum materials and DVDs. Hardback books are $2 and paperbacks are 50 cents. All proceeds from the sale will benefit the library and its collections.

The book sale will begin with a special presale for Friends of the Library members from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday. Memberships are available at the door starting at $10 for students and $25 for members of the community. Nonmembers are invited to shop from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.

The Friends of the Library of UCO is an organization dedicated to enriching the services of the Chambers Library to the university community. Membership is open to all.
