Zachary Paul Drew, 20, was arrested by Edmond police at 12:35 p.m., during his class at UCO.
Drew, from Choctaw, was charged with one count of first-degree rape by instrumentation. Bond was set at $25,000.
"Our policy is to handle it as internally we deem,” UCO coach Tracy Holland said. "So, unfortunately, I can't talk about it.”
Drew has been suspended from the football team, pending the outcome of the investigation.
In the UCO football media guide, Drew is listed as a 6-foot-6, 250-pound sophomore who was moved from tight end to the offensive line in spring practices. He was listed as the Bronchos' second team left tackle on this week's depth chart.
"He was a backup. I don't even know if he's had game time,” Holland said. "He was on some special teams, but I don't know if he's played.”
