UDPATE: Missing Texas man found in Kansas

Russ Caldwell was found safe in Greensburg, Kan. Caldwell was reported missing Friday and was last seen about 11 a.m. Thursday in Meeker. He was wearing khaki pants, a brown shirt and a gray jacket.

7:40 p.m. Authorities found Russ Caldwell safe in Greensburg, Kan.

1:30 p.m. MEEKER — Lincoln County authorities have has issued a silver alert for a missing 78-year-old man from Texas.

Russ Caldwell was last seen about 11 a.m. Thursday in Meeker. He was wearing khaki pants, a brown shirt and a gray jacket.

Caldwell had driven his brown Honda Pilot, license plate number CKIY515, from his home in Shamrock, Texas, to visit his son in Meeker. Caldwell has dementia and the family said they think he got confused and tried to drive back to Texas, the sheriff's office reports.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the sheriffs office at (405) 258-1191.
