NYON, Switzerland (AP) — UEFA says nine clubs are being examined to see if they violated the European football body's financial fair play rules.

UEFA did not disclose which clubs are still being investigated, but said a total of 76 teams had initially been asked to provide "additional information" about their finances. Of those, 67 are no longer suspected of any violations.

Manchester City and French league champion Paris Saint-Germain are among the clubs that have faced scrutiny over some of their sponsorship and licensing deals after spending heavily on player transfers and salaries after being taken over by billionaire owners.

UEFA is expected to announce final sanctions next week.
