“The Avengers” movie was a box-office bonanza for Marvel Studios, and was released on DVD this week. Marvel's comics branch is hoping for the same kind of relative return for the launch of its new Avengers comic book series, titled “Uncanny Avengers,” launching on Oct. 10.

“Uncanny Avengers” is the flagship book for the launch of “Marvel NOW!,” an initiative that will restart several of Marvel's top series.
