Proceeds from Friday's “Dancing With the Bronchos” dinner and auction will benefit the school's athletic programs.

Curtis Baker, a football offensive guard, will take to the dance floor with Denise Smith, director of purchasing, payment and travel.

Baker, a junior from Jones, said he already knew how to two-step but is having to learn the salsa, a Latin dance the 21 pairs of dancers will perform.

“It is going good,” Baker said of the rehearsals. “It is lot different from playing football. We have had a lot of fun.”

Smith, a UCO staff member for five years, said the whole thing frightens her a bit.
