UCO students collected more than $14,000 worth of diapers, bottles and other baby items. Among the eight student organizations competing, the organization collecting the most donations was Alpha Gamma Delta.

Infant Crisis Services currently serves 1,000 babies and toddlers in central Oklahoma each month by providing baby formula, baby food, diapers, blankets, sleepers, clothing and other baby items.

"We’ve seen a record number of babies and toddlers recently, so these donations are going to play a big role in making sure we can meet the growing needs,” said Miki Farris, executive director of Infant Crisis Services. With students providing more than 9,555 diapers, 1,086 pacifiers, 1,005 bottles of baby bath, 567 bottles of lotion and 482 spill-proof cups, Infant Crisis Services will be able to meet the growing need during October, which is historically one of its busiest months.

"This project is another example of how service can truly impact our community,” said Cole Stanley, UCO Student Affairs assistant vice president. Infant Crisis Services is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.
