A University of Central Oklahoma student is creating an online job site designed to help area employers save time and money in finding the best employees, and make it much easier for college students and other candidates to find employment.

Due to launch in November, speedyinterview.com is an automated interview service that businesses can use to screen and narrow applicants more quickly, founder Antwone Taulton said.

Candidates, he said, simply select an online job opening, upload their resumes and, using webcams that are standard to most laptops and computers today, record their answers to first-line interview questions submitted by employers. Then, hiring managers, and any collaborative team members can view and review interviews on their computers or smartphones at their convenience “whether it's at home or two in the morning,” he said.

Taulton, a 26-year-old UCO junior from Waco who's studying political science after earning a bachelor's in theology from a Minnesota school, said his main inspiration for the business startup was making it more convenient for college students to find jobs, whether part-time or full time, degreed or nondegreed.

“With this service, they don't have to worry about going out and searching for jobs, or leaving their dorm or apartment,” said Taulton, 26. “Of course, we'll have a disclaimer telling them, and all candidates from the general public, to be professional and treat interviews as if they were face-to-face,” he said.
