A new Education Center at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center has been named after a family with a long-standing history of giving back to Oklahoma.
The Samis Family Education Center opened earlier this month. Located adjacent to the Children's Atrium, it was built to meet the growing needs of the campus. The Samis Education Center features 40,000 square feet of state-of-the-art meeting, conference and office space.
“Mike Samis has been a tireless champion of the mission to advance excellence in medical education, research and care in our state,” said Gov. Mary Fallin, in a news release. “His commitment to both community and state is one that has been handed down for generations in his family and in his wife's family, too.”
Fallin last year reappointed Mike Samis to the board of the University Hospitals Authority and Trust.
