Also during the meeting, the board approved a maximum price of $10.3 million for the construction phase of a renovation project at Hester Hall, which houses the newly created College of International Studies.

University officials expect the entire project, including design and construction phases, to cost about $13.5 million. The project is being funded with privately donated money.

The expansion will include a single-story addition to the west side of the building, which will create a new front door and lobby for the College of International Studies.

The existing three-story building will be renovated to house the office of the college dean, staff offices and study areas, with seminar rooms on the second and third floors.

This will be the second renovation the building has seen in recent years. In 2007, the university completed a renovation project at Hester Hall that included creating a space for the College of International Studies and reroofing the building.
