The University of Texas is livening up their spring sports lineup with libations.

UT formally announced Thursday that beer and wine will be served at spring sporting events, starting Friday with a softball doubleheader, as reported by Brian Davis of the Austin American-Statesman.

Beer and wine will not, however, be served at the Texas spring game on April 19.

In contrast, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State do not permit alcoholic beverages of any kind at any sporting events. See this story on statesman.com
