Scouting Kansas

Record: (2-3, 0-2 Big 12)

Best player: James Sims. The senior running back has rushed for 390 yards and two touchdowns this season, averaging 4.5 yards per carry. He was a second-team All-Big 12 selection a year ago after rushing for 1,013 yards and nine scores.

The case for Kansas Saturday: The Jayhawks hung with TCU on Saturday and have occasionally shown an ability to play up to their competition. Last year, they narrowly lost 20-14 at home to Oklahoma State.

The case against Kansas Saturday: Kansas hasn't won a Big 12 game since a 2010 victory over Colorado, which isn't even in the league anymore. The last time the Jayhawks beat a current Big 12 team? Oct. 10, 2009, when they beat Iowa State at home.
