by John Helsley Published: August 31, 2014

When: 2:30 p.m. Saturday

Where: Boone Pickens Stadium, Stillwater

TV: Fox College Sports Central (Cox 271, DirecTV 617, U-verse 647)

Radio: Cowboys Radio Network (KXXY-FM 96.1)

Scouting Missouri State

Record: 1-0, beat Northwestern State (La.) 34-27 in their season opener Saturday.

Best player: Strong safety Caleb Schaffitzel was an FCS All-American a year ago when he led the Bears with 111 tackles and and four interceptions. He was a finalist for the Buck Buchanan Award, which goes to the top defensive player in the FCS ranks.

The case for Missouri State: The Bears return 35 lettermen and 12 starters from a team that finished second in the Missouri Valley a year ago. And they enter with momentum off a rally from a 24-7 deficit against Northwestern State.

The case for Oklahoma State: The Cowboys proved they’ve still got plenty of talent, even with so many new players. Back at home, following their rousing performance against Florida State, they should be ready to start a winning streak.
