Scouting Texas Tech

Record: 7-1 overall, 4-1 Big 12, coming off a 38-30 loss at Oklahoma on Saturday.

Best player: Junior tight end Jace Amaro is one of the best receivers in the Big 12, with 64 catches, 861 yards and three touchdowns already this season. He leads the conference in receptions per game (eight) and ranks third in receiving yards per game (107.6).

The case for Texas Tech: Texas Tech's offense will be the best unit a revitalized OSU defense has faced yet, averaging nearly 40 points and more than 537 total yards per game. And Lubbock on a Saturday night can be a scary place for opposing teams.

The case against Texas Tech: The Red Raiders rank ninth in the Big 12 in turnover margin at minus-6, including 19 giveaways. That could prove costly against an opportunistic Cowboy defense that has racked up 12 takeaways over its last three games, including two that went for touchdowns against Iowa State.
