Best player: Senior safety Kenny Vaccaro is the leader in a secondary that ranks among the nation's best. Third on the team in tackles, he leads the Horns in pass breakups and passes defended and has also produced an interception and fumble recovery. Mel Kiper ranks him No. 1 among senior safety prospects for the NFL Draft.

Why Texas could beat OSU: The Longhorns seem to be riding a rebirth of momentum based on a more balanced offense. They'll test an OSU defense with much still to prove.

Why Texas will lose to OSU: Rolling up numbers on Ole Miss is one thing, doing it on the road against a Big 12 foe is another. The jury is still out on quarterback David Ash, who could find himself in a shootout for which he's ill-equipped.
