UPDATE: All clear at Edmond North High School after lunch bag investigated

Police called a bomb squad to investigate a suspicious bag found Wednesday at the school. It turned out to be a lunch box inside a canvas bag.

10:20 a.m. A lunch box found inside a canvas bag near Edmond North High School is not dangerous, police spokeswoman Jenny Monroe reports. Nothing harmful was found in it, she said. Police called a bomb squad to investigate the bag when it was found near the school Wednesday morning.

10 a.m. EDMOND — Police are investigating a suspicious bag found outside Edmond North High School, 215 W Danforth Road.

The canvas bag was noticed by a campus police officer about 9:15 a.m. between Thomas Drive and the east entrance of the school.

A bomb squad has been called to remove the bag. Crews are using X-ray to see what is inside it, said police spokeswoman Jenny Monroe. The school has not been evacuated.
