UPDATE: All clear given at school following bomb threat.

A school spokesman said all school buildings at Western Oaks were cleared and no bomb was found. Classes will be held as scheduled Tuesday.

Students at Western Oaks middle and elementary schools in Bethany have been evacuated after police received a bomb threat.

Authorities said the bomb threat call came in about 1 p.m. Monday to Bethany police.

Students were evacuated from the schools at 7300 NW 23 and taken first to a shopping center in the area.

Steve Lindley, Putnam City School District spokesman, said students are being taken to Putnam City West High School while police investigate the scene.

Students being picked up from either school by parents, and those who ride the bus home, will stick to the regular school day departure schedule from Putnam City West. Students can be picked up and will leave by bus from the main entrance of Putnam City West. Parents of students who regularly walk home will be contacted and told to pick up their students at the main entrance as well. has disabled the comments for this article.
