Update: Armed woman taken into custody after standoff on State Highway 9

3:35 p.m. Police said they have taken the woman into custody. She had threatened to harm herself. The woman's name was not released.

The highway was reopened.

2:30 p.m. Newcastle police, McClain County deputies and Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers have blocked State Highway 9 both directions east of Pennsylvania Avenue after a woman with a gun was reported on the north service road near an antique store.
