The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported four people died on Oklahoma roads Sunday and Monday.

Ronald G. Merritt Jr., 37, Fort Cobb

Merritt was dead at the scene of a crash at 2:15 a.m. Monday on State Highway 19 in Grady County. The patrol reported the right rear tire of his pickup was deflated and caused Merritt to lose control of the vehicle, which rolled three times. He was not wearing a seat belt.

Ted Bowen, 51, Tulsa

Bowen died about 6:30 a.m. Monday on U.S. 412 about a quarter of a mile west of Rogers County road NS 416. Bowen was a pedestrian walking east in the westbound lanes when he was hit by a westbound tractor-trailer driven by Gary Medlock, 58, of Inola. Medlock was not injured. Bowen died at the scene, troopers said.

Janey Wellington, 68, and Tony Lee Hammock, 72, both of Drumright

Wellington and Hammock died after a collision about 3:45 p.m. Sunday on State Highway 16 near Shamrock in Creek County. Wellington was driving and Hammock was a passenger in a van traveling eastbound. An eastbound Olive Fire Department fire truck on its way to a grass fire attempted to pass the van near 481st West Avenue. As the fire truck was passing, the van attempted to make a left turn into a private driveway. The fire truck hit the van broadside. Wellington was wearing a seat belt; Hammock was not. The driver of the fire truck, Joshua Perryman, 23, of Drumright, was treated at a hospital in Bristow for injuries that were not life-threatening. A passenger in the fire truck, William Campbell, 27, of Jennings, was not injured. has disabled the comments for this article.
