UPDATE: Fire in Oklahoma City church extinguished early Wednesday

Firefighters have extinguished a small fire in a church. The small fire was in south Oklahoma City Wednesday.

7:05 a.m. The fire was confined to three pews in the sanctuary at Southern Hills Baptist Church, 8601 S Pennsylvania Ave., said fire Deputy Chief Marc Woodard. Crews are working to ventilate the building. The fire is out. Firefighters responded to reports of smoke in the church, Woodard said. Check NewsOK.com for updates.

6:55 a.m. Firefighters are on the scene of a reported fire in a church building in south Oklahoma City Wednesday morning.

The fire was reported about 6:30 a.m. at Southern Hills Baptist Church, 8601 S Pennsylvania Ave.
