A call from a female about 10 a.m. Friday led Oklahoma City police to call off a search for a person they believed may have drowned in a pond overnight.

A little after 8 a.m. Friday morning firefighters responded to a report that a person may have fallen into a pond behind a business at NE 122 and Kelley Avenue.

Passers-by said there was a hole in the ice that wasn't there the night before.

Oklahoma City firefighters used a boat to travel to the hole then searched for a body using long poles, but they found nothing.

Evidence at the scene included tracks that lead to and away from the hole, as well as a glove and beanie cap left behind.

A person who identified herself only as female called police just after 10:30 a.m. and said she fell in the pond, but cousins who were with her at the time pulled her out.

The caller did not give a name or age but said she was fine, Oklahoma City police Lt. David Dale said.
