The Oklahoma Highway Patrol and police have reported the deaths of five people as a result of crashes on state roads.
James Lee Johnson, 37, Elgin
Johnson died as a result of injuries he suffered in a crash Monday in McClain County, Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers reported.
Johnson was driving a van which crashed on Interstate 44, the patrol reports. He died Friday at OU Medical Center.
Billy Jade Lowry, 26, Katie Leann Peeples, 22, and Aries Jade Lowry, 6 months, all of Woodward
Three people died in a Woodward County crash Thursday night when the driver of a car in the wrong lanes struck a pickup head-on, troopers reported.
Those killed were the driver, Lowry, and passengers Peeples, 22, and Aries Jane, 6 months, all of Woodward, the patrol reports.
Lowry was driving a car south on U.S. 183 in the northbound lanes at 9:40 p.m. Thursday about 4 miles south of Fort Supply when his car hit a northbound pickup driven by Don Witman, 60, of Vici.
Witman was taken to an Enid hospital, where he was admitted with head and leg injuries.
Witman wore a seat belt. Lowry and his passengers did not wear seat belts, the patrol said.
Frederick Marchant, 52, town unavailable
A motorcycle crash in northwest Oklahoma City was fatal for a man Thursday night, a local TV station reported.
The crash happened on NW 138 at Joe McDonald Drive after Marchant struck a curb about 10:40 p.m. and lost control of the motorcycle in a parking lot. He was dead at the scene, police report.
