UPDATE: Flights resume after dense fog lifts Monday morning across Oklahoma

A dense fog advisory was issued in Oklahoma. The fog has lifted and air travel is resuming.

11:15 a.m. Fog has mostly lifted across Oklahoma City and flights are resuming at Will Rogers World Airport. Some flights were delayed due to fog. A number of flights are backed up due to the delays, said Karen Carney, Will Rogers spokeswoman, but planes are landing and taking off again at the airport. Air traffic was stopped last night due to fog and did not start up again until late in the morning, she said. Check NewsOK.com for updates.

4:45 a.m. A dense fog advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. for most of Oklahoma Monday, the National Weather Service reports.

Visibility is less than a quarter mile in some areas, the weather service reports. The advisory covers areas of Oklahoma east of a line from Alva to Lawton.

Temperatures will be pleasant Monday and Tuesday with highs in the 60s, but by Wednesday temperatures will turn colder with chances of sleet and snow Thursday and Friday in central Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma City forecast through Sunday is as follows:

Monday: Widespread dense fog before 10 a.m. Otherwise mostly cloudy then gradually becoming sunny with a high near 65. Light west, southwest wind becoming southwest 5 to 9 mph in the morning.
