UPDATE: Flood advisory issued for Oklahoma City area Wednesday

Heavy rain was falling across Oklahoma City and surrounding areas in central Oklahoma Wednesday. Lightning may be to blame for at least one fire.

4:30 a.m. A flood advisory for Oklahoma City and central Oklahoma has been issued by the National Weather Service Wednesday morning. The advisory is in effect until 6:15 a.m. for Oklahoma City and surrounding cities. Up to 3 inches of rain is possible.

Power lines are reported down behind the Rockwell Village Apartments at 917 N Rockwell Ave., according to fire radio reports. Flooding in roadways is possible, the weather service reports. Check NewsOK.com for updates.

4:15 a.m. Heavy rain with lightning moved across Oklahoma City Wednesday.

Some flooding is possible on streets, the National Weather Service reports.

A house fire at 3823 Cimarron Park Drive in northeast Oklahoma City may have been caused by lightning, fire crews report. The fire started about 3 a.m.

Police in Warr Acres and other parts of Oklahoma City reported high water in roadways and traffic light signals knocked out, according to radio reports.
