9:40 a.m. Interstate 40 was reopened about 9:30 a.m. after authorities finished clearing oil pipes from the road, officials said.

7:30 a.m. A tractor-trailer spilled its load of 6-inch oil pipes across the westbound lanes of Interstate 40 Monday morning, forcing the closure of the highway, Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers said.

The problem forced troopers to close both lanes of westbound I-40 about 7 a.m. near mile marker 49.

The tractor trailer overturned, leaving the pipes spread across the interstate, shoulder and median.
