Southwestern Oklahoma State University went into lockdown for more than an hour and a half Monday after a report of a man with a gun on campus. However, a police search yielded no evidence of such a threat.

About 9:45 a.m., the campus was locked down after a caller alerted Weatherford police of a man with a gun leaving the Campbell building, where classes were in session, said school spokesman Brian Adler. Students and staff were told to stay inside and buildings were locked as police searched the area.

After a thorough search, police did not locate anyone with a gun, Adler said. The lockdown ended about 11:15 a.m. and classes resumed as scheduled.
