An Oklahoma City man was arrested Thursday afternoon in connection with a possible murder-for-hire plot, Oklahoma City police and the FBI reported.

Preston Rhoads, 30, was arrested on a complaint of solicitation to commit murder, police Capt. Dexter Nelson said.

Rhoads is accused of trying to hire someone to kill a person, but investigators did not disclose who.

The FBI notified Oklahoma City police about Rhoads a few days ago, and law officers conducted a search warrant Thursday afternoon in Rhoads’ northwest Oklahoma City home, in the 11200 block of McKinley Avenue, near Hefner Road and N Pennsylvania Avenue.

Nelson said investigators were searching the home for weapons and any dangerous substance, but would not say what those substances might be.

Rhoads was taken to the Oklahoma County jail. His bail had not been set Thursday evening, a jail official said.
