UPDATE: Man shot Tuesday afternoon dies at hospital

A man shot Tuesday afternoon at the Adam's Crossing Apartments, 2424 NW 39 Terrace, later died at the hospital, Oklahoma City police said.

9 p.m. The man shot Tuesday afternoon died at the hospital, police Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow said. His name was not released.

3 p.m. Sequoyah and Putnam Heights elementary schools are no longer on lockdown, a school official said. The lockdowns lasted roughly an hour Tuesday afternoon.

2:45 p.m. Police received a call that a man had been shot about 12:45 p.m. Tuesday. The man was found critically wounded and was taken to a hospital, Wardlow said.

Investigators are at the scene and are talking to witnesses to get a suspect description, Wardlow said.

Police do not have an update on the victim's condition and do not have a suspect description at this time, she said.

2:05 p.m. Oklahoma City police responded Tuesday to a shooting at Adam's Crossing Apartments, 2424 NW 39 Terrace.

Sequoyah and Putnam Heights elementary schools are on lockdown, Oklahoma City Public Schools spokeswoman Kathleen Kennedy said.
