11:10 a.m. Authorities in Kingfisher County are looking into whether any Oklahoma laws were broken when two aunts of a 5-month-old girl took her to Texas Thursday.
An Amber Alert was issued for the girl, Amber Faith Smith, Thursday and law officers from Kingfisher County Sheriff’s office, Oklahoma City police, Edmond police and the FBI worked for more than 14 hours trying to locate the missing girl.
The girl is reportedly safe in Seminole, Texas, said Kingfisher County Undersheriff Bryon Blankenship Friday morning.
Blankenship said the case appears to be a civil dispute. The baby’s grandmother was keeping the girl before her two aunts went to the home near Cashion and took the child to Texas. A report on the incident could be submitted to the Kingfisher County District Attorney’s office where a decision could be made to file any charges if state laws were broken, Blankenship said.
5 a.m. A 5-month-old girl reported missing from Cashion has been found, the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety reports Friday.
