UPDATE: Natural gas leak shut off near Putnam City elementary school in Oklahoma City

Firefighters responded to a gas leak near a Putnam City elementary school. The leak has been shut off in northwest Oklahoma City.

11:25 a.m. A natural gas leak was caused when a worker accidentally cut a gas line Tuesday morning near Ralph Downs Elementary School, 7500 W Hefner Road. Firefighters shut off the leak when they arrived, said fire Deputy Chief Marc Woodard. The school was not evacuated.

10:45 a.m. A gas leak has been shut off near a Putnam City elementary school in west Oklahoma City Tuesday.

The leak is near Ralph Downs Elementary School, 7500 W Hefner Road. The school was not evacuated, said Steve Lindley.
