UPDATE: Oklahoma City officer who shot and killed man Thursday night placed on administrative leave

Police have not yet released the name of the person shot and killed by an officer at the Farmers Public Market.

10:55 a.m. The officer who shot and killed a man Thursday night has been placed on paid, administrative leave. Police released a few additional details Friday morning about the shooting, Capt. Dexter Nelson reports.


6:40 a.m. Police have not released the name of the man killed by an off-duty police officer at the Farmers Public Market in Oklahoma City late Thursday night, said police Capt. Dexter Nelson. Nelson said officers cleared the scene about 2:30 a.m. Friday. He said police will not release a name until the man shot is identified and notifications are made to relatives. The name of the officers involved will not be released before the name of the man killed, he said. Check for updates.

12:10 a.m.: An unidentified armed man was shot and killed by police when he would not follow police orders outside a rap concert, said Oklahoma City police Capt. Dexter Nelson.

Nelson said two officers were working in an off-duty capacity outside the Chief Keef concert venue Thursday night when they saw a man who appeared to be unconscious in a car.
