UPDATE 8:05 a.m. Monday -- Police Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow has identified the victim of a fatal hit and run in northwest Oklahoma City as Jack McClung, 79. McClung is the inventor of the product Blue Stuff, an EMU oil product.
A man died Sunday afternoon from the injuries he received when he was struck by a car that left the scene in northwest Oklahoma City, authorities said.
About 3 p.m., the man was hit by a car near NW 23 and N Geraldine Avenue, police said. The man was taken to OU Medical Center, an EMSA spokeswoman said, where he later died.
Oklahoma City police officers are looking for the driver and the vehicle involved, a police spokesman said.
The vehicle was described as a black, four-door sedan with a red stripe, a red bumper and a red grill. A witness said they saw the speeding car hit the man and then back up to get around him, the spokesman said.
Anyone with information about the incident or the vehicle is asked to call 911.
