The Area Forecast Discussion from the National Weather Service, Norman Forecast Office (as of 9:42 a.m. Friday):

“Updated precip chances … weather type:”

Discussion…
“Bulk of precipitation has shifted across the eastern portions of Oklahoma,…with
scattered areas of light rain across south central Oklahoma. Modified/adapted
pops to current radar trends and analysis of latest suite of
mesoscale models. Current wv shows the h500 short wave entering
the Panhandles… with a dry air intrusion impinging across West Texas
and into the Southern Plains… behind the larger area of precip. 15z
sfc analysis places a weak front along the Cap Rock. Expect
redevelopment along this boundary through the afternoon…
possibly light drizzle/light rain as it lifts eastward. Mesoscale solutions… such as
the hrrr… continue to develop some minor instability ahead of
the front… so some isolated rumbles of thunder may exist this
afternoon.”
