One woman died and a man was injured in a rollover wreck on Interstate 40 in west Oklahoma City, authorities said.

The wreck happened about 10:56 a.m. Monday in the westbound lanes of I-40 at S Rockwell Avenue, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Chasidy Kimmell, 35 of Oklahoma City, tried to exit I-40 from an inside lane when she lost control of the vehicle, troopers said. The car rolled several times, ejecting Kimmell and a passenger, William Madriaga, 34, of Oklahoma City.

Kimmell died at the scene. Madriaga was taken by ambulance to OU Medical Center, said Lara O'Leary, Emergency Medical Services Authority spokeswoman. He was admitted in stable condition with internal injuries, authorities said. Seat belts were not being used at the time of the accident, troopers said.
