UPDATE: Overnight storms cause Oklahoma power outages Friday

Storms overnight caused thousands of power outages in Oklahoma City. More than 9,000 customers of Oklahoma Gas & Electric Co. are without power Friday morning.

8:20 a.m. Crews continue to restore power to Oklahoma Gas & Electric Co. customers Friday morning. There are 8,561 outages reported statewide and 5,958 outages in the Oklahoma City area with 2,729 of those in north Oklahoma City. Check NewsOK.com for updates.


7:05 a.m. Crews are working to restore power to customers, Oklahoma Gas & Electric Co. reports. There are 9,033 customers without power statewide from overnight storms. In Oklahoma City, there are 6,332 customers without power Friday morning. There are 2,479 customers without power in north Oklahoma City. Check NewsOK.com for updates.

5:55 a.m. Overnight storms caused thousands of power outages in the Oklahoma City area early Friday, Oklahoma Gas & Electric Co. reports.

There were 9,350 power outages reported about 6 a.m. in Oklahoma City with 5,218 of those in north Oklahoma City, the OG&E website shows.

Across the state there are 12,594 power outages, the website shows.
