UPDATE: Power outages reported in Oklahoma City area due to storms, lightning Monday

About 4,700 electric customers are reporting power outages Monday in central Oklahoma. Thunderstorms with lightning have moved through the Oklahoma City area

10:15 a.m. About 1,260 Oklahoma Gas & Electric Co. customers remain without power Monday. Power is being restored to homes and businesses after thunderstorms and lightning moved through central Oklahoma early Monday. Check NewsOK.com for updates.

5:40 a.m. More than 4,700 power outages are reported in central Oklahoma Monday. Lightning has struck power poles and lines are down in a number of areas of Oklahoma City. Power lines were reported down in northwest Oklahoma City, according to police radio reports. Traffic lights are also out in parts of Oklahoma City. Check NewsOK.com for updates.

5 a.m. About 3,700 power outages are being reported Monday in the Oklahoma City area, Oklahoma Gas & Electric Co. reports.

Thunderstorms with lightning moved through the Oklahoma City and Norman area early Monday. There were more than 1,000 outages reported in north Oklahoma City.
