UPDATE: Thunderstorms, lightning in central Oklahoma, flash flood watch in northeast Tuesday

Thunderstorms moved into central Oklahoma Tuesday. There is a flash flood watch in northeast Oklahoma Tuesday. The Oklahoma City high temperature will be near 94 degrees.

8:30 a.m. Heavy rain is moving through Oklahoma City Tuesday. Thunderstorms are producing lightning. A structure was hit by lightning in Warr Acres at 5606 Woodbrier Drive. Firefighters have responded. Check NewsOK.com for weather updates.

6:45 a.m. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are spreading into central Oklahoma as rain moves south from northern Oklahoma, the National Weather Service reports Tuesday. Heavy rain and lightning are possible. Check NewsOK.com for weather updates.

6:25 a.m. A flash flood watch is in effect until 1 p.m. Tuesday for parts of northeast Oklahoma, the National Weather Service reports.

Osage, Washington, Nowata, Craig and Ottawa counties are under the watch. Cities included in the area are Bartlesville, Miami, Nowata and Vinita.

Rain is being reported in parts of northern Oklahoma Tuesday.

4:50 a.m. There is a chance for rain Tuesday morning in the Oklahoma City area, the National Weather Service reports.

The Oklahoma City forecast is as follows:

Tuesday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms mainly before 10 a.m. Partly sunny with a high near 94. Heat index values as high as 99. South wind 8 to 13 mph.

Tuesday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 76. South, southeast wind around 11 mph.
