UPDATE: Suspicious package deemed safe at Southern Nazarene University in Bethany

Bethany police and Oklahoma City police's bomb squad are investigating the package. The package was reported about 7:30 a.m. Police have shut down NW 39 Expressway in front of the university as a precautionary measure, Bethany police said.

11:55 a.m. Authorities have determined the suspicious package found near Southern Nazarene University as a toolbox, Bethany police said.

The package is deemed safe and NW 39 Expressway is reopened.

10:25 a.m. BETHANY — A suspicious package was reported early Sunday morning near Southern Nazarene University, police said.

The suspicious case was reported about 7:30 a.m. Bethany police said the case was out of place and has asked Oklahoma City police's bomb squad to help determine the contents of the package.

Police have shut down NW 39 Expressway in front of Southern Nazarene University as a precautionary measure.
