UPDATE: Thunderstorms Friday in central Oklahoma to be followed by temperatures in the 60s Saturday

Storms are expected Friday night in Oklahoma City. A cold front is on the way with the high temperature Saturday in the 60s.

12:15 p.m. Thunderstorms are expected to start in northwest Oklahoma late Friday afternoon and early evening and move east. Storms could produce winds up to 65 mph, golf ball-size hail and heavy rainfall. The most likely time for severe storms will be from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m., the National Weather Service reports.

5:20 a.m. Thunderstorms are headed toward central Oklahoma after 10 p.m. Friday, the National Weather Service reports.

There will be a chance for rain Saturday morning in Oklahoma City with temperatures in the 60s. The Oklahoma City forecast is below.

Friday: Mostly cloudy with a high near 87. South wind 17 to 20 mph with gusts as high as 28 mph.

Friday: Showers and thunderstorms mainly after 10 p.m. Low around 51. Southeast wind 8 to 13 mph becoming north, northwest 18 to 23 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent.

Saturday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 p.m. Mostly cloudy with a high near 63. North, northwest wind 10 to 17 mph with gusts as high as 24 mph.

Saturday night: Mostly cloudy then gradually becoming clear with a low around 45. Northwest wind around 6 mph.

Sunday: Sunny with a high near 69. Northwest wind 6 to 10 mph.

Sunday night: Clear with a low around 47.

Monday: Sunny with a high near 76.

Monday night: Mostly clear with a low around 51.

Tuesday: Sunny with a high near 79.

Tuesday night: Mostly clear with a low around 55.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny with a high near 81.
