UPDATE: Winter storm warning canceled in Oklahoma but more snow falls overnight

Snow is moving eastward across Oklahoma Friday morning. Norman has had heavier snow early Friday. A winter storm advisory is in effect until noon.

10:15 a.m. Snowfall has ended across central Oklahoma Friday, the National Weather Service reports. But several people in Oklahoma City have called 911 after slipping and falling, reports Lara O'Leary, spokeswoman for Emergency Medical Services Authority. Crews have taken two people in good condition to local hospitals. Surfaces will remain slick and hazardous across the state as frigid temperatures continue. Check NewsOK.com for weather updates.

7:50 a.m. Snow will end across the Oklahoma City area in the next one to two hours, meteorologists in the National Weather Service in Norman report Friday morning. Check NewsOK.com for updates.

6:55 a.m. A winter storm warning in Oklahoma has been canceled Friday. But a winter storm advisory has been issued until 12 p.m., the National Weather Service reports.

6:35 a.m. Light snow is falling across the Oklahoma City area Friday morning, the National Weather Service reports. Snow accumulation reports have been from 2 to 4 inches across the city. Roads remain snow-packed and icy with some drifting on east and west roads. Check NewsOK.com for updates.

6 a.m. Snow is winding down across southwest Oklahoma as drier air moves into the state and a system of snow moves east, the National Weather Service reports. Check NewsOK.com for weather updates.

4:25 a.m. Snow continues to fall across Oklahoma Friday morning, but the worst may be over as the bulk of the system is on its way out of the state.

Heavier snow has fallen in the Norman area with lighter amounts in the Oklahoma City area early Friday. Snow is expected to move out of central Oklahoma by mid-morning.

Parts of the state have had at least 2-4 inches of snow that is packed on icy ground surfaces. Roadways remain slick and hazardous and travel is not advised.
