Upscale retailer in 50 Penn closes store after 15 years
Boxed in by empty storefronts and feeling the weight of the economy, the owner of Israel ’s Fine Menswear in 50 Penn Place decided to close his doors after 15 years.
When the store, on the second level of the shopping center, closes this weekend, it will leave 50 Penn Place’s retail portion less than 75 percent occupied.
It’s a blow 50 Penn Place may not be able to survive, some say.
