SAITAMA, Japan (AP) — Yuki Abe scored the only goal to propel Urawa Reds to a 1-0 win over FC Tokyo and into first place in the J-League on Saturday.
Abe's header with 10 minutes remaining allowed Urawa to improve to 22 points, one ahead of Kashima Antlers who were beaten 1-0 by Kashiwa Reysol.
Masato Kudo scored for Kashiwa, which improved to 20 points with its third straight win.
In other matches, Uruguay striker Diego Forlan scored the winner with his sixth goal of the season as Cerezo Osaka posted a 2-1 win over Nagoya Grampus. World Cup hopeful Yoichiro Kakitani scored his first goal of the season for Osaka, which improved to 16 points.
Sagan Tosu and defending champions Sanfrecce Hiroshima also have 21 points. Tosu beat Shimizu S-Pulse 1-0 thanks to Naoyuki Fujita's 43rd-minute effort while Hiroshima drew 0-0 against Vissel Kobe.
Elsewhere, Yoshihito Fujita and Yuji Nakazawa scored to lead Yokohama F Marinos to a 2-0 win over Gamba Osaka, Shingo Akamine gave Vegalta Sendai a 1-0 win over Tokushima Vortis and Kawasaki Frontale beat Ventforet Kofu 2-0.
