CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — Federal mining regulators issued 210 citations during the latest round of monthly impact inspections.

The U.S. Mine Safety and Health Administration said it also issued 14orders following inspections at nine coal mines and five other mines in October.

MSHA said it issued 24 citations and two orders following two inspections at Tunnel Ridge LLC's Tunnel Ridge Mine in Ohio County, W.Va. Among the violations, inspectors said the mine operator failed to follow an approved ventilation plan and maintain dust collection systems, as well as failing to record hazardous conditions in its pre-shift/on-shift record book.

The inspections began in 2010 after the Upper Big Branch mine explosion in West Virginia that killed 29 coal miners.
