USA Canoe/Kayak in center of the stream
Throughout my 35 years in paddle-sports, people often characterized canoeing and kayaking as extreme and edgy. While paddlers do thrive on a sense of adventure, they excel from a strong center of balance. To illustrate, think about the Oklahoma River projects you've read about over the past few months.
In September, the Oklahoma City Boathouse Foundation opened the Chesapeake Finish Line Tower, a $6 million, four-story, game-changing facility symbolizing a new future and mainstream path for thousands to enjoy the Oklahoma River.
Recently you read about a new youth pavilion, sky trail and a zip line that allows you to soar over the Oklahoma River, and which continues the commitment to getting our kids in the outdoors, living a healthy lifestyle and appreciating our natural resources.
Only a few weeks later, you're reading again about the most innovative minds at the river putting their heads together to launch cool, community-driven projects that ultimately become reality.
What the Boathouse Foundation has accomplished is far beyond words and “feel good.” The OKC Boathouse Foundation is the new definition of “making great ideas happen.”
