USD women move on to WBI quarterfinals next week

VERMILLION, S.D. (AP) — The University of South Dakota women's basketball team has advanced to the quarterfinals of the Women's Basketball Invitational.

The Coyotes beat Utah State 77-69 in the first round on Thursday in Logan, Utah. USD takes on Lamar next week.
The Coyotes got an invite to the WBI after narrowly missing a spot in the NCAA tournament. The Coyotes lost to rival South Dakota State in the championship game of the Summit League Tournament.
