UW coach says no further action against QB Smith

LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — Wyoming coach Dave Christensen says the Mountain West Conference has not taken any action against quarterback Brett Smith.

The sophomore was ejected from Saturday's game at Nevada in the fourth quarter after receiving two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties for the game.

Smith received one for taunting after he scored a touchdown and a second after officials waved off a penalty against the Nevada defense.

Nevada came from behind in the last minutes of regulation to force overtime and went on to win 35-28. Wyoming did not score after Smith was ejected.

Smith completed 21 of 34 passes for 197 yards and three touchdowns. His backup was just 1-of-6 for 10 yards.

Christensen says Smith's emotional reactions on the field have been addressed with the quarterback.
